LADDAWAN GARDEN

At Laddawan Garden (สวนลัดดาวัลย์), beekeeping plays an important role in both honey production and supporting local ecosystems. However, monitoring hive productivity without disturbing the bees was a key challenge for farmers.

THE CHALLENGE

Traditionally, checking honey production requires opening the hive, which can:

  • Disturb and stress the bees

  • Disrupt hive activity and productivity

  • Increase risk to both bees and beekeepers

  • Make frequent monitoring inefficient

Farmers needed a way to track honey production more accurately while maintaining a healthy environment for the bees.

OUR SOLUTION

In collaboration with Pollination Nation, we developed a smart beehive monitoring system designed to track honey production without interfering with the hive.

The system includes:

  • Load sensors to measure hive weight

  • LED alert indicators for easy monitoring

  • A simple, non-intrusive design

Each hive is equipped with a load sensor that continuously measures its weight, which directly reflects honey accumulation.

When the hive reaches a target weight (typically around 5 kilograms), an LED light is triggered to signal that the honey is ready for collection.

This system allows farmers to monitor hive productivity without opening or disturbing the bees.
